In its 4 th edition of South America, the route of the Dakar change of scenery in 2012, with a plot line that will take participants from Mar del Plata in Argentina, to Lima, capital of Peru, to Chile and the Atacama desert dunes.
With the announcement of the route of the Dakar 2012, the organizers propose a new look at the map of South America, who have dealt with a different perspective. Between 1 and 15 January and co-pilots will cover a route of more than 9,000 kilometers in total, sailing between oceans, mountains and deserts. Close links with the mainland, this year's rally discover Peru, offering a pan-American dimension to the adventure: the three largest English-speaking countries of the world are in the program. To formalize this partnership, the President of Peru's Institute for Sports, Arturo Woodman Pollitt, went to Paris for the presentation of competition, there met Henry Meyer, Minister of Tourism of Argentina and Gabriel Ruiz Tagle, Undersecretary of Sports government of Chile.
